ABOUT READ-TALK-PLAY
What is Read-Talk-Play?
Read-Talk-Play is an awareness campaign in Northeast Wisconsin that focuses on early education. It began in 2011 to show the role that parents play as kids’ first teachers. Read-Talk-Play was introduced by the Appleton Education Foundation and the Appleton Area School District. The program explains how simple things like story time and pretend play affect early childhood development.
Who Is it For?
Everyone! Read-Talk-Play shares early learning resources for children ages zero to three and older. It provides tips for kindergarten and school readiness. The campaign is essential for parents, too. It gives ideas and shows why daily interaction with our kids is so important. This campaign is also important for childcare providers and educators.
